COURSE DESCRIPTION: Frustrating isn’t it? You hold a safety meeting and walk your team step-by-step through the material. They nod their heads and tell you they understand. They even pass the post-meeting quiz to prove they got the point. But shortly after they return to work, they’re back to taking the same old shortcuts and bad habits.

Fact is, studies show that only around 10% of training actually transfers to the job. But what are you supposed to do about it? Your time is limited and you can’t spend every hour of the week training and retraining the same people on the same subjects. What can you do to ensure that the safety training you provide actually results in safer work practices, greater awareness and better safety attitudes? Bottom line: How do you make safety training stick?

This program will answer those vital questions and more. Our expert speaker, Robert Ryan of Safety Metrics, will show you how to analyze your training and identify the steps you should take to ensure long-term training outcomes. This course will provide some simple, yet powerful tools to quickly monitor whether your programs are truly delivering the results you want. You’ll learn:

  • What absolutely MUST be defined and measured to maximize training effectiveness
  • The common pitfalls that most companies fall into when rolling out their training programs
  • How to avoid the dangerous training myths that developers and managers assume about expected outcomes
  • Specific roles and accountability measures for all those involved in the training process
  • How to distinguish between different types of training and what is required for success
  • How to prevent the negative affects of poorly executed programs
  • A start-to-finish road map on how to initiate, develop, deliver, evaluate and record the effectiveness of all your safety training programs
