COURSE
DESCRIPTION:
At Company A, recession-weary employees are feeling overworked,
underpaid and de-moralized. At Company B, they’re feeling the heat
but they’re optimistic about their future.
What’s the difference? One word: Leadership. Company B’s managers
and supervisors know how to motivate people. Even in the current
high-stress environment, they keep practicing the fundamentals – and
that includes making people feel they’re valued and that the work
they’re doing is important.
Do the managers at your company really get it? Do they make your
workers feel important? Do they use recognition and non-monetary
rewards in a way that energizes your workforce?
If not, they’re hurting your bottom line.
Low-cost, easy-to-deploy recognition strategies can have a huge
impact on performance. That’s the good news. The bad news is that if
you’re not continually revisiting your recognition programs and
strategies, they get tired and become ineffective – to the point
where efforts to motivate employees can actually DE-MOTIVATE them.
This 60-minute conference – which comes with a free six-minute
e-learning module you can use to reinforce the message again and
again – will show you how to keep your recognition and non-monetary
reward efforts fresh. Valerie Grubb, a top-ranked B21 speaker, will
lay out the most common mistakes companies make with employee
recognition. And she’ll give you a blueprint for creating a
recognition program that’s aligned with your company goals and in
sync with the needs of your workforce in today’s economy.
Topics to be covered include:
-
Five killer mistakes companies make in recognition
programs (and why they make them)
-
The Top 10 employee motivators and how they should
form the foundation for your recognition and non-monetary reward
program
-
The differences between Individual and Team
recognition – and how your program should reflect those
differences
-
Going beyond boosting productivity and morale: how
recognition can lead to higher revenue and profits for your
company
-
Motivating your Managers to incorporate recognition in
their daily practice
-
How to handle a tyrannical manager who never gives
praise
-
Strategies for getting buy-in from the top to
implement a new recognition program or boost the one you have in
place now
