The paperless office is not yet here for most, but the vast
amount of electronic information coursing through the average
organization is bringing us closer and closer each day. Along with
all the electronic information and use of mobile devices comes great
opportunities, complex challenges and dangerous pitfalls.
This teleconference will address employment issues as they
pertain to employees' use of personal digital assistants (such as
BlackBerry's), cellular phones and laptop computers, and the rash of
claims under the personal injury and workers' compensation laws. It
will also address the many ways that both employers and employees
frequently misuse mobile devices and the ramifications for doing so.
This teleconference is critical for employers who need to know the
limitations of their employees' privacy rights in the workplace and
how to avoid liability for monitoring their employees' activities.
Finally, this teleconference will address the practical aspects
of keeping ahead of the curve regarding managing the use of mobile
devices and data preservation in the workplace: what kinds of
policies make good sense to have in place to protect your company,
and what are the best ways to introduce these new policies to ensure
understanding of reasons and intent as well as to optimize
compliance.
